Cult movie Sähkö (1995), directed by Jimi Tenor, is a snapshot in time of the activities of artists related to the legendary Finnish record label Sähkö Recordings. The unique and beautifully shot documentary includes rare footage of artists like Mika Vainio, Ilpo Väisänen, Tommi Grönlund and Mono Junk producing and performing music, as well as working on DIY instruments, pressing records and touring. Essential viewing for fans of electronic and experimental music!

This screening dives into the alternative side of Finnish music videos. Grainy film footage enters into dialogue with early experimentation in computer graphics. Modern maximalist animation meets captivating dance performances. With music ranging from ’90s EBM to Finnish tango, and from ambient to tracker techno and dub, you will experience a wide range of alternative Finnish music videos you will not see on television. In fact, most of these videos are not even on YouTube, so this might well be your once-in-a-lifetime chance to catch them!

After the screening we move on to Celeste with a line-up presented by Elektorni! Finnish artists Mesak, LAS, Juhani Oivo and Tin Man are joined by local artist Mike Inzinger and the Copenhagen-based NATQ for a night of high-quality electronic music. Musical range for the night extends from electro to dubstep and house to d&b!
