Der Großteil der heute produzierten Smartphones stammt aus China. Die jungen Arbeiter_innen
in den Fabriken erhoffen sich in Städten wie Shenzhen oder Guangzhou ein besseres Leben. Dass die Arbeitsbedingungen in dieser
Industrie mehr als bedenklich sind, ist schon lange bekannt. Mehr als drei Jahre lang verfolgt Heather White den Kampf von
Yi Ye Ting gegen den Gebrauch von verbotenen und giftigen Chemikalien in den Fabriken, welche zu Leukämie führen können. Der
Film erlaubt einen seltenen Einblick in gegenwärtige Proteste in China. (JW)
