Kalès - International Competition

Laurent Van Lancker, BE, 2017
63 min., OmeU
Dokumentarfilm
Wien Premiere
Before its evacuation, about 5,000 people lived in the “jungle“ of Calais, the illegal refugee camp on the French coast. This documentary, co-filmed by inhabitants of the camp themselves, reveals the harsh living conditions in the camp. The result is a testimony to the parallel society that has emerged, in which hope and hopelessness alternatingly have the upper hand. (JPi)
